WINGED MEMORIES
                     White Dove Releases
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away....."

What can we expect will happen when we release the birds?

While we can't guarantee what the birds will do every time they are
released, we can make an educated guess as to what they will
do. Generally the birds will circle above the release site for a few
moments to get their bearings before taking off to return to their
loft. How many times they circle and how visible they are during
this really depends a lot on the release site. One thing we can
guarantee is that the birds taking off, the sound of the beating of
their wings, and the sight of them circling high above will be
     breathtaking and beautiful!

What happens to the birds after they are released?

Our birds are well trained homing pigeons (rock doves) that are
trained from birth to return back to their loft no matter where they
are released. After they are released the birds will fly straight back
to the safety of their loft, so you can rest assured that the birds will
not be harmed or lost due to the release.

Will the birds stay at the site or land on people?

No. The birds will not land on people. Their only concern is getting
home. Our birds have been trained to fly home after being
released.  They will circle high in the air above the release site for a
few minutes until they know which way to go, but they will not land
on people or stay at the release location.

What is the difference between doves and pigeons?

Pigeons are actually Rock doves. The word "pigeon" actually
originated from France where it means "dove."  Our birds are white
racing homing pigeons that have been trained to return to the
place where they were born and raised after release.  Doves that
are bought in a pet store should never be released as they have
not been trained to return and cannot survive in the wild. They
would most certainly be eaten by predators very quickly, which is
not something you want associated with your special event.

What if there is bad weather?

We cannot release the doves during inclement weather as they will
not fly home and will try to find shelter instead, this makes them
easy targets to get eaten by predators. In the case of the release
having to be cancelled due to the weather, we will give you a
     full refund.
